Throughout season 4 of True Blood Terry Bellefleur dealt with a wife who thought their baby Mikey was possessed, a pair of down-home exorcists, a Creole ghost named Mavis who set fire to their house, said ghost possessing his co-worker Lafayette and abducting Mikey, a siege cum exorcism, and a drug-addicted cousin for whom he staged a Southern fried intervention.

A few darker things we suspected about Terry were brought to light, such as the fact that after he came home from Iraq he lived in a treehouse called ‘Fort Bellefleur’ like an ‘insane squirrel’, [that tree house is quite interesting in itself] and was addicted to ‘smack, meth, and crack’. Most intriguing in light of later events we learned that Terry is not just a crack shot but a world class sniper level shot.

Up until the unexpected arrival of Patrick, a Marine buddy whom Terry thought was dead, we were comfortable with Terry, secure in the knowledge that nothing could ever upset our view of him as the most heart-breakingly messed up but loveable character on True Blood.

“Scrambled. Scrambled Terry, scrambled”

Our love for Terry hasn’t changed but with the arrival of Patrick we’re beginning to perceive a new dimension, again possibly confirming something we suspected about him in the darkest corners of our minds but didn’t want to admit. While we saw Eric explicitly acting out the premise of a Manchurian Candidate in Burning Down the House, we got the barest hint of it when ‘Zombie Terry’ introduces Patrick to Arlene. Watch Terry zone out beginning at the 1:40 mark:

Another hint came when the veil lifted between the living and the dead and Ghost!Rene not only warned Arlene about ghosts from Terry’s past but explicitly associated his warning with the Tolerance Rally Manchurian Candidate by loudly urging her to ‘RUN!’

Then came the assassination of Tara. It happened so quickly we barely had time to register the impossibilities inherent in the shooting:

Let’s take a more focused look at that shot, shall we?:

The first thing you realize when viewing this .gif is that as evidenced by the direction of the blood spray the bullet exited the back of Tara’s head. When she pulled the trigger on her shotgun, Debbie was positioned behind Tara. It is impossible to shoot a person in the back of the head and have the bullet also exit the back of the head. In addition, shotgun ammunition consists of pellet filled shells that explode and disperse on contact. Tara should not even HAVE a face after a shotgun blast from that short range. On top of which she should have been thrown into the sink by the force and trajectory of the blast but instead she was spun around and FACED the irresistible force:

Ballistics aren’t a matter of faith but of physics. If someone tells you a person was shot from behind but you can SEE them reacting to a forceful impact from the front, you do not have to take it on faith that the someone is lying to you. The window glass raining inward is also a testament to the direction of the shot.

Tara was shot in precisely the same manner as Marnie. From the front with a high powered rifle:

Does this mean Terry was the mind-controlled assassin outside that window? Who else could it be? And mind controlled assassins need a trigger to galvanize them into action, and triggers are pulled by handlers. Patrick sure has suspicious timing.

Why was Debbie there? Because there must always be a Patsy on hand to take the blame for shooting the victim in the front from behind. Especially when the assassinations happen in a kitchen.

Not a fair criticism of True Blood. Understandable, but not fair. What I mean is, and I know regular readers of TBU and TAP have heard this ad nauseum, but basically most people are missing the subtle parallels within the narrative that fill in missing information for other characters; essentially, each character parallel acts as it’s own metaphor within the ostensibly straightforward  narrative.

To wit, I  find it absolutely mind-blowing that mainstream critics are blasting the writers for glossing over Jason’s gang rape, yet almost no one seems to think it is unusual that season 4 Sookie never once referred to the enormous revelation that her ex-lover Bill had stood by while two psychos beat her to within an inch of her life so he could literally force-feed her a mind altering drug. A drug that has proven time and again to be a tool of control and manipulation, not to mention the ball and chain of addiction which has served many a pimp very well. Did you think Sookie is immune to addiction? What, exactly, makes you believe this?

Why so much concern for Jason and none for Sookie? Why so  much concern about the supposedly straightforward portrayal of ‘magical negroes’ [which doesn't include Tara] and none for the explicit portrayal of extreme abuse and victimization of women?

Is Alan Ball playing female victimization for shits and giggles or is there a point?

At the beginning of the season Sooke behaves exactly as though she and Bill have broken up due to some harmless indiscretion on his part and not as the result of finding out about his violent plot to attack and drug her. She runs to Bill for help with getting her house back from Eric when she should have been running and screaming to the police. She allowed Bill to lie–a lie that let’s HIM completely off the hook– to the whole town on her behalf when she should have declared from the rooftop that she thinks Bill drugged her and tried to make her believe she was on some fantastical Sid and Marty Krofft trip to Fairy World.  It was a ‘trip’ alright. Later in the season after showing some sparks of independent thought, Sookie is conveniently and seriously injured again and is AGAIN force-fed [ she was out cold and had no ability to consent] a huge dose of his blood-drug. Imediately afterward she’s back to loving him ‘totally and completely’. At the end of the season Sookie asks BILL to forgive HER. For what exactly it is impossible to determine.

The mere existence of these inexplicable behaviors should be cause for concern yet nobody remarks upon the main character’s bizarre state that allows her to continue loving  and defending her abuser.  The ENORMOUS power and abuse  issues are immediately apparent but are not worth analysis or even comment.

Is Alan Ball torturing Sookie Stackhouse so we can all get off on the fun of seeing a girl jerked around by a master manipulator who is out for her blood? Or is he illustrating a larger point the majority of the audience just can’t quite grasp? 

To believe and to behave as though these issues are not worth discussing is to condone the torture of female characters for the titillation factor alone. GIVING THESE WRITERS THE BENEFIT AND RESPECT OF A DOUBT, a quick survey of all Sookie has been through can only lead to the conclusion that her PTSD must be severe. Yet all  the critics and many fans can talk about is how stupid she is,  how clueless and dumb and hysterical. The same goes for attitudes about Tara. Everyone sees the trauma she has been put through, on top of her life as a repressed minority, but all you hear from people is how annoying she is and how much they hate her quivering lips. Well, forgive Tara’s grief.  Rejoice in her terrible death and ignore her bravery if you like but all you’re doing is going along with the Mob of Acceptable Opinion and perpetrating the demand for blood-thirsty entertainment completely devoid of redeeming compassion.

 Rather than reflecting on what these widely held anti-feminist attitudes say about us as a culture and how we tend to blame the victim IF the victim is female,  we blame it all on the incompetence and hatefulness of a top notch team of showrunner and writers. WE are not racist and anti-woman, it’s Alan Ball!

 True Blood may seem weird and racist and loaded with misogyny but a deeper look reveals not tone-deafness, not sub-par writing, not exloitation for it’s own sake, nor pandering to the lowest common denominator.  There is a method to the madness,  a thoughtfulness,  an intelligenct design, and a deep rooted compassion  that so far it’s audience can’t keep up with or live up to.  True Blood is merely holding up a mirror to our dominant culture and the reflection isn’t pretty.

Then head over to read the original minisode post, written by the lovely pennydreadful. Maybe the TB PTB are trying to tell us something with this bit of cheek–seems too random to be the work of a vandal– maybe not. BG worries this is a clue Bill will propose to Sookie again, and I, intermittently the optimist, speculated that they might have finally decided to remind us of Bill’s true colors.

In and out of the True Blood online universe people are dissatisfied with Alan Ball’s interpretation of Charlaine Harris’s Sookie Stackhouse novels. The reaction of on-and offline viewers has ranged from perplexed to enraged in the wake of the season 4 finale. Many online have elected to disconnect from the show, at least emotionally. Far fewer fans are discussing True Blood this hiatus than in past seasons. More than two months on from the finale the atmosphere has settled into apathy and weary mockery, and this among neutral bloggers as well as formerly ardent fans. We’ll have to wait for June 2012 to see if this foul mood translates into anemic ratings.

This is about more than just angry rhetoric coming from disgruntled obsessives.  A few formerly supportive reviewers have turned on Mr. Ball and some have resorted to full blown mockery of the fundamental worth of the show.

All of the complaints are valid. I’ll say it again: All of the complaints are valid. The misogynistic portrayal of female characters, the lack of logic and consistency, the plot holes, lax continuity in both story and characterization, and the overwhelming sense of disorientation have coalesced into one pissed off fandom, which was fueled in no small part by outright character assassinations of fan favorites Pam and Eric. The consensus is these  characters were torn down so that a greedy, power mad, murdering psychopath of a character could be glorified and made to seem relatively harmless.

I’ve said this until I’m blue in the face but  this is just what happens when greedy power mad murdering psychopaths seize control of the narrative. [call it what you will but YES, True Blood is a mind fuck/screw/puzzle film and this usually involves a twisted, complicated narrative mode ala Fight Club] They feed us bullshit that doesn’t make any sense and they shove their fascist ideology down our throats. Black is white, white is black, war is peace, workers are the ones waging class warfare on the rich, the 1%, who control the narrative through the corporate media, are just a bunch of good ol’ boys. To prop themselves up the 1% must trump up villains du jour to terrify you into thinking the Overlords of our Overclass are the lesser evil. Compared to Osama bin Laden and his hordes of swarthy ‘terrists’, Dick Cheney, George H.W. Bush, and their Cabal of Robber Barons are virtuous avenging angels who are forced to torture and rape and maim and kill and exploit in their heroic–and expensive– crusade to protect us. To keep us safe. Safe from entities that they themselves funded and controlled to begin with.

True Blood fans, is any of this sounding the least bit familiar?

In our dominate cultural narratives past crimes of the REAL murdering psychopaths in power are whitewashed and their sins skillfully projected onto their enemies via propaganda organs that they own.

Rank murders can occur right inside the halls of power but are never widely reported, if at all, much less prosecuted.

Given some of the above [and much more scattered throughout this website and the whole wide internet, plus your local library] I would like to ask those intimately familiar with the show, how does True Blood’s narrative mode differ from the reality that should be slapping us in the face every day if weren’t so skillfully hidden and papered over?

You unhappy True Blood fans are assuming the show is too far from reality and I say it gets a little too uncomfortably close to reflecting just exactly what the fuck is going on here.  Is it any wonder Alan Ball routinely refuses to have a frank discussion of his show’s core themes and steadfastly denies a deeper meaning? Think for a moment how ridiculously illogical it is for an Oscar winner to deny the importance or value of his own work. He’s either an idiot or a paragon of self-restraint.

Now take a good look around. Murdering psychopaths who exploit the powerless favor soap opera tropes to tell the story of our culture and society. Treacly, degrading mush,  trashy, amoral slop or glittery, often disturbing fluff is shoved down our throats to distract us from the real issues that confront us.

Still not ringing a bell?

In our male dominated culture women are treated like dirt, portrayed as grasping lunatics, strong, independent females are subverted and ridiculed while compliant little living dolls dressed up like porn stars are held up as examples to our young women.

But you know all this, don’t you? You see it every day. You probably complain about media garbage to your friends and neighbors, spouses, kids, and coworkers. If you are like me and my family, there are strict limits on what the kids can watch, listen to, or view online.

So why do consumers of media get the shit end of the stick when there are innumerable venues with access to so much money, time, talent, and potential to produce quality entertainment? WHY does the current state of popular culture seem determined to produce insidious brain rot rather than spend the effort to create art that feeds our souls and enlightens us?

Where did all the art go? Yes it’s out there but you have to dig for it. They don’t  make it easy for you to obtain clarity and luxuriate in mind-expanding beauty. Ugliness keeps us on edge, insecure, and suspicious of our fellow man. Traumas are regularly introduced to keep us off balance, confused, and compliant with the demands of the dominant ideology. What are the demands? Shut up, lie back, and enjoy it. Whatever ‘it’ happens to be this year. Yesterday they might have wanted to use our hands and backs, today they might want our blood. Already they can grab your house out from under you,  send your kids/friends off to be cannon-fodder-for-profit,  incarcerate you for profit, and even legally snatch your young children to make a profit. And all this while trafficking in humans and covering up child rape, to name just the tip of the iceberg. This bunch are nothing if not consummate multi-taskers.

Of course relating this to True Blood is difficult because we haven’t actually seen the OTBB [One True Big Bad] Bill Compton doing something unambiguously evil. Just going by the narrative he’s not so bad, right? Certainly not as bad as evil old Eric Northman, or Maryann Forrester, or Russell Edgington, or poor crazy Marnie, or whatever the Big Bad du season is next year. But digging further, we find many examples of Bill’s murderous romps and penchant for berserk mayhem, [as in life, what we do know  can be extrapolated into exponentially worse deeds] it just isn’t trotted out and kept in the forefront of the minds of the viewers. You have to do that for yourself, because as we should have learned by now The Powers That Be do love a memory hole.

True Blood is just giving you what you get everyday. It’s easy to understand why you’re complaining about Sookie and her infuriating cluelessness, her constant victimhood, and her compliant attitude in the face of extreme abuse. You might well ask when she’s going to get a clue and stand up tall against the forces bent on sucking her dry.

We might well ask the same thing of you, dear reader.

It is good to rail against stupidity and trashy tropes on tv. It is good to demand logic and continuity, to declare that even fictional murders should be investigated, to cry out in rage when victims beg forgiveness of their abusers, to wonder why criminal conspirators don’t get arrested, and to mourn the dearth of truth and beauty. Now if we could just translate this into real demands we might get somewhere.

I’m not going to sit here and predict that Mr. Ball will ever allow True Blood to ‘come out of the shadows’ so to speak and give us some truth . All I ask is that it stop taking the narrative position of our overlords a give us a more  clear-eyed narrative pov. I get it, I do. Every day in the real world we are bombarded with lies and propaganda from on high and True Blood has constructed a meta narrative to illustrate this point. But having it permeate our entertainment beggars our patience and will cause us to drift away, as we should if this depressing state of affairs continues.

Is it too much to ask of the Oscar winning screenwriter and his creative team of highly skilled professionals that they give us something we can truly root for? Something that will uplift and enlighten us? If this idea, this hope, for an unveiling, a ‘great revelation’ of deeper truths, hasn’t been the plan along then True Blood has been a futile exercise in exploitative titillation and I have wasted a lot of time poring over it, searching for meaning.

But I don’t believe I’ve wasted a moment. Yes Virginia, there is a puppetmaster.

And I didn’t just say that so that hundreds of you would shout “I love you” back, though that is obviously a bonus feature of the human microphone. Say unto others what you would have them say unto you, only way louder.

Yesterday, one of the speakers at the labor rally said: “We found each other.” That sentiment captures the beauty of what is being created here. A wide-open space (as well as an idea so big it can’t be contained by any space) for all the people who want a better world to find each other. We are so grateful.

If there is one thing I know, it is that the 1 percent loves a crisis. When people are panicked and desperate and no one seems to know what to do, that is the ideal time to push through their wish list of pro-corporate policies: privatizing education and social security, slashing public services, getting rid of the last constraints on corporate power. Amidst the economic crisis, this is happening the world over.

And there is only one thing that can block this tactic, and fortunately, it’s a very big thing: the 99 percent. And that 99 percent is taking to the streets from Madison to Madrid to say “No. We will not pay for your crisis.”

That slogan began in Italy in 2008. It ricocheted to Greece and France and Ireland and finally it has made its way to the square mile where the crisis began.

“Why are they protesting?” ask the baffled pundits on TV. Meanwhile, the rest of the world asks: “What took you so long?” “We’ve been wondering when you were going to show up.” And most of all: “Welcome.”

9/11 and the banality of it’s evil narrative.

This banality of evil is intensely dangerous. Inevitably, the lack of truth gives rise to subtle oppression, and then eventually to obvious genocide. Those leaders that have taken their countries down such a road cannot sleep well at night. They think of nothing but murder and retribution.

Small, furtive murders become large and obvious ones over time. It is inevitable. It is human nature. Those who might have stopped it grow afraid. Those who are supposed to report on it, grow too frightened to do so.

Those who might challenge the broadening evil are two few and increasingly fragmented. Often they are imprisoned or even killed. Over time, such killings are taken for granted. An entire security apparatus is erected to eradicate a certain class of people – truth-tellers above all.

Jason: Of course it counts. It’s like if a tree falls in the woods it’s still a tree ain’t it? The whole point in being a hero is to do something greater than yourself. It’d be easy to do it for the glory or the girls but we’re bigger men than that.

In real life, real heroes don’t get glorified in the ‘official’ narrative of our culture as spoon fed us by the corporate media. Instead, repulsive straw men fakers like Bill, Kitch, Steve Newlin, Senator Finch, and Dick Cheney are shoved down our throats as our national heroes. Like it or lump it, bitchez!! When they do talk about heroes the folk all agree on, they emasculate and assassinate their characters to discredit them as exemplified in JFK and MLK. Adding insult to injury, the libel and slander was heaped on after ‘they’ assassinated both men for real in cowardly acts of ambush murder. Alas, nothing ‘they’ can do will ever dim our love for the men whose true glory lay in their wisdom and restraint.

All you frustrated True Blood fans out there now know what it feels like to be deeply, acutely aware of real life parapolitics. And I think that, my dears, is the point.

FUCK THE MAN.

1 minute, 38 seconds of the Big Con at the Dorchester.  Only here, tonight in Shreveport, Louisiana and unlike Dealey Plaza 1963 we see it for what it is in real time.

Notice how Eric went in a bullet straight trajectory right at Bill while the other two went a more…circuitous route. Unlike the others Eric didn’t harm another living soul. Now think of this: Eric could have killed Bill in less than milliseconds by ripping his head clean off. His orders were to ‘kill the king, slaves’. Instead, Eric toyed with Bill, showing him who’s the boss and giving Bill a fighting chance by defiantly inviting him to give it his best shot.  Sookie doesn’t know it yet but Eric showed us he WAS fighting the spell by drawing out the ‘kill’. He is VERY strong–Sookie’s double strength electricity only knocked him back a little whereas a single hit sends everyone else flying.  In some cases several dozen yards. Now, if Eric can fly faster than a speeding bullet  then he can move his chest to avoid a wooden bullet, probably tipped with silver to incapacitate him in case Bill missed his heart. [h/t Chris]

I believe the whole point of this exercise was to kill the spellbound patsy.

When Eric pulled out the silver bullet and tossed it off it was yet another nod to the bullet sucking scene, particularly since both bullets hit the exact same spot. On the surface, by having Eric pull the bullet out it looks like confirmation he HAD been lying to Sookie in Dallas about the bullets needing to be sucked out. Until it’s spelled out, the real answer, that Eric has become immune to the silver, won’t hit home for the general audience. If Eric is immune then Bill certainly is as well. And Bill is, beyond any doubt whatsoever, immune to silver. We not only have the proof I laid out in ‘Smoking Mirrors’, Bellakarma has confirmed that in 4.09, Roy can be heard in the background shouting  “I silvered the son-of-the-bitch and he ran away!”. This immunity of Bill’s has sinister implications as to how he managed to avoid succumbing to M/A’s meet the sun spell, and why she can’t or won’t try to control HIM.

The Dorchester event was a long con, complete with a patsy and a puppet master pulling his strings; the public setting, the many cameras, security stripping, destroyed images, patriotic props, and the extras were all in place. Bill cast himself in the role of JFK–the heroic young president gunned down in his prime–only HE, King William Compton, was to have escaped the dastardly plot and smite the grungy loner himself. The big hero. . Only Eric didn’t play along with the script.

We even have a second Manchurian Candidate to help clean things up.

Bill: “Sookie GO!”

BAM! Assassin foiled!

Aww, you thought Bill didn’t want Sookie to see him die? How..quaint.

Now we have to ask ourselves some fundamental questions about this image:

Besides the obvious parallel, what made Bill believe it was safe to rip off Eric’s head with impunity? As far as Bill knew, be-spelled Eric’s only orders were to kill HIM. WHY DID BILL THINK ERIC WOULD JUST KNEEL THERE WAITING FOR THE TRUE DEATH? No matter how fast Bill moved, Eric could still, in less than milliseconds, rip him to shreds. Bill seemed to think something would stop Eric from fighting back. It had to be that Bill believed  Eric was being controlled to cooperate in his own death. Ergo, the whole thing was staged by Bill, pre-arranged with whatever entity is controlling both Marnie AND Antonia. Bill and this entity, who acts nothing like Marnie nor Antonia, are only USING Antonia because she is a great necromancer who can control the dead like puppets. SHE can make them go to the beach and eat chocolate and shit. Bill and the demon who serves him, the demon who can make people appear and disappear and throw up powerful walls of protection,  are using Antonia’s necromancy abilities to commit genocide and to murder Bill’s enemies or anyone else who stands in the way of his jackbooted march to greater power.

Eric pierces the wall of lies

Terry is a Prince. A little tough love from our darling Terry and his junkie cousin Andy realizes that he is an addict and wonders if V has eaten his soul. Terry knows what we all know–men with no soul can’t cry from the heart, but evil clowns can put on a good show. Deep down the addict is a good soul, he just needed someone who knows him to care enough to help him on the road to recovery.

Andy the junkie looks at the prince and sees a monster, Sookie looks at a monster and sees a prince. [h/t Renee]

Tara’s got some rage. Now she has someone to tell her she’s also strong and capable, and that there is a higher power who is on her side. She just has to have faith.

Bill’s public display of blood lust to kill the witch was refreshing. Not that we’re happy he wants to murder his co-conspirator to cover-up his complicity, along with Tara and all the other humans. We’re just happy that we finally get to see Bill in all his ‘loveable’ glory.

At nearly the same moments Eric is regaining his memory and telling Sookie he loves her, the little trickster Tommy is dead. Felled by his own self-sacrifice, Tommy is assured by his brother that he is loved, that nothing is his fault, and won’t he be surprised when angels come and lift him away from this hell.

Sookie is exposed in all her tragic victim hood. It is NOT understandable under any ordinary circumstances that this poor girl could still love a man who engaged in a viciously violent, murderous conspiracy to pump her full of drugs in order to turn her into a slave. If you still love and want to be with a man who tried to sell you into slavery, you may need an army of angels and maybe some anti-psychotics for good measure.

Why doesn’t Pam still smell like shit?

How does Jason know he slept with Jessica because of the blood, but the same thing doesn’t occur to Sookie in regards to Bill? Which sibling is the ‘smart’ one here? And which one is the mind controlled puppet…

Well, it sure looks like Jesus ‘groomed’ and manipulated poor Marnie for an entire year before she decided it was a good idea to invite possession. An invite she extends at the exact same time Bill decided it was a good idea to raid Wiccan covens in search of fledgling necromancers. Jesus pretends he picked up his new abilities and a ‘demon to serve him’ on his travels to Mexico, but we know that demon manifested itself to Lafayette last year. Why wait so long to talk to Marnie about the demon, as Jesus claimed he wanted to do? Demon ain’t new.

Who is this entity possessing Marnie alongside Antonia? It begged Antonia not to abandon ‘us’. The entity presented itself to Jesus as Antonia but it acted and sounded nothing like the gentle spirit who had delivered babies and saved her village from fever. Is this really a power mad Marnie? If so, why pretend to allow ‘Marnie’ to speak to Jesus? If ‘Marnie’ is speaking for both of them, why not just say this to her friend from the get-go?

Using superhuman powers, Jesus breached the wall of protection. He’s now on the inside, asking questions and taking names. Forget his demon for the moment and what it could mean. As a metaphor for Eric, Jesus tells us that only a few are capable of cracking the wall of lies and delusions to get to the heart of the matter. And while you may not want a demon hanging around a higher power can indeed come in handy when the chips are down.

Throw out the pudding honey, it’s time for some meat. Hey Bill! We don’t need your education, we don’t need your thought control. Dancing with paperclips--not so random after all

Not all conspiracy theories are created equal and being a ‘buff’ from childhood has it’s advantages in separating the wheat from the chaff. At nearly 48 years of age, I long ago dismissed the disinformation laden rabbit holes of shape-shifting lizard people and ancient alien/Illuminati bloodlines and the like. Unfortunately it’s nearly impossible to do serious conspiracy research without encountering these road blocks along the way.  As for UFO’s and aliens my only interest in this area stems from what the abduction phenomenon reveals about covert government mind control operations, programs [pogroms?] which often utilize hypnotically induced ‘screen memories’ to cover-up illegal covert operations of all kinds, including the program’s own existence.

In my opinion ‘screen memories’ is a perfect term to describe many True Blood scenes. These are deceptive scenes that the audience is presented with from poor mind-controlled Sookie’s narrative pov that serve the function of overlaying, obscuring and distracting from much more disturbing realities. Art imitating life.

Because of UFO’s, lizards, and the Illuminati most people dismiss ALL conspiracy ‘theories’ as the ravings of frothing lunatics, whom we are told like clockwork [especially around anniversaries of momentous 'events'] are comforted by visions of powerful blood thirsty elites who gather in dark rooms to conspire against the masses. These so-called lizard theories and such like which garner the brightest media spotlight, [along with 911, but that's another story] act as a poison pill for wide acceptance of legitimate, rigorous research into documented conspiracy FACTS that affect us all. Facts that would be too inconvenient for high muckety-mucks and their friends in higher places to allow wide public exposure. By using these theories aka ‘conspiratainment’ as the exemplar of all conspiracy research, we see the art of distraction–black propaganda, disinfo, and psychological operations– in action. The magicians other hand. The men in charge of the narrative can be seen behind the curtain once you know what to look for. They control what discussions are allowed in the mass media, when, where, and by whom, and they create, sponsor, and prop up the bread and circuses that intentionally block the view of the masses and prevent us from thinking about what’s REALLY going on in the Deep State .

Who more than Bill is benefitting from the collective amnesia of the citizens of Bon Temps?

What you look for are under the table shenanigans they NEED you to ignore so they can enact their nefarious agendas unimpeded. Disasters and other ‘shocks’ to the system that just so happen to make a few men even richer and more powerful than they were before deserve at least a second glance, don’t you agree?

Soon after the end of True Blood’s season two, me and Renee from TAP began discussing the possibility that Alan Ball was exploring the strong vein of covert fascism in American leadership and it’s attendant brutal exploitation of the masses. Without much to go on at that point, it seemed that with the revelations about Bill and with Maryann providing a stupefyingly amoral spiritual crisis distraction for the entire population of Bon Temps, calling True Blood an exercise in Parapolitical Paranormal Paranoia didn’t seem out of order. A blending of the meat and the pudding, if you will.

The paranormal paranoia is right there on the frothy top for all the world to see and acts as the distraction from the deeper political message. Art imitating life.

Having bragged about my veteran researcher status, I’m now ashamed to admit that at the time it aired I missed the point of Jason’s paperclip caper. I should have recognized the significance immediately, for Operation Paperclip  marked the dawn of the age of the Nazi Scientist and not so coincidentally, the ascent of fascism in the halls of power.

You may think that last assertion is hyperbole, but as the result of Paperclip, which brought to our shores Nazi scientists who had conducted brutal experiments of every inhuman kind upon starving Jews and others in the death camps, abominations and affronts to decency such as the following are all well documented conspiracy facts of our national security state: Manchurian Candidates, severe trauma based mind control experimentation upon children, including sexual abuse and the use of co-opted or cooperative black magic-practicing cults to instill obedience out of shock and fear, drug experiments on unwitting adults including spiking town water supplies and BREAD both here and abroad, administering of an array of lethal diseases to unwitting/unwilling human subjects, and many other heinous experiments that are only hinted at in available documents. I’ve given links to most of these subjects all over TBU so there is no need to link them again, but for your own eye-opening education I urge you to google these terms and satisfy yourself of their veracity.

As to how I think this all links to True Blood, I’m happy to say that while Jason’s paperclip game was a very nice if cryptic clue, season 4 has provided us with even more fodder to ponder and dots to connect. The first step to escaping the matrix is being driven to learn the meaning of cryptic references.

Of Nazi linked occultism, we’ve had many subtle but decisive hints, such as the focus on Bill’s left-handedness,  smoke streaming from his chimney when there are no apparent corresponding fires in his fireplaces, a season rife with human sacrifice in exchange for power, occult symbolism, and spirit beings, one of whom is bent on genocide. It is NOT necessary for you to believe in these black magic tenets to believe that certain elite ‘factions’ DO believe in and practice dark rites and rituals, including ritualized mass genocide, expressly to gain power.

The story arc of the other spirit being Mavis is highly instructive. I believe she was an imposter who was deliberately sent to distract Lala from getting involved with the witch ‘war’ [h/t FrenchK.] and prevent him from throwing a magical wrench into Bitler and M/A’s plot. I believe Mavis was compelled by Bitler’s black magic to do as she was told ala Claudine and every vampire who falls under M/A’s control.

Didn’t you find it very strange that Mavis’s baby was still swaddled? It would be highly unusual  for cheap fabric such as would have been used for an illegitimate African American baby during the Depression, to survive intact after being buried for over 80 years. Were the skeletal remains moved to the property from BT cemetery? Or better yet, was the fire at Arlene and Terry’s apartment really about evacuating the area to retrieve the remains? The place DID seem haunted. Maybe Bill had Bucky dig them up and moved to Hoyt’s property as part of an elaborate distraction perpetrated by a clearly fascist king who then killed his henchman to keep his secrets. This second hostage crisis in 24 hours just so happened to ensnare nearly every character in the drama and kept them all away from the REAL SHIT going down. This is not bad writing, these events are hinting at and covering up deeper, more disturbing realities that we barely get a glimpse of before the eye of the camera looks away.

Of particular interest is the serious shit going down with their loved one Sookie. She’s been conveniently injured again and Bill was, as usual, johnny on the spot to ‘rescue’ her with his blood.

Sam is off camping with Luna, and NO FUCKING BODY IS MINDING MERLOTTE’S!!! Yet there are still customers, and nobody seems to know or care what the hell is going on.

Something ain’t right. TWO hostage crises, the ‘miracle’ of the ghost and the hidden grave, all of it is beginning to feel like another stage play to me. There is too much going on, a veritable bombardment that has the smell of expert political distraction deeply rooted in the tenets and symbols of the occult. The magicians other hand. And as usual, ordinary people are paying the price for these dangerous mind games.

Jason thought something was wrong. His bewildered face when Andy had Terry pinned to the ground was heartening. He’s beginning to get it, he’s wondering WTF is going on here? Finally! Someone sees that things are not adding up! What exactly was Jason seeing that so confused him? What caught his eye? He can’t have been surprised at Andy’s aggressiveness–he knows Andy is tweeking on the shit! Is Jason wondering if they are ALL tweeking on the shit?

I believe that in conjunction with glamouring the denizens of Bon Temp, both in person and on television, Bill’s blood has been put in the water and what we are witnessing now is an EXERCISE, a COVERT OPERATION in mind control.  Never mind experiment, we’ve moved well beyond that.

Lala has powerful mojo, this much we could see at the coven and in Mexico. But conveniently, ever since his return he and Jesus act like the coven never existed, and this after Jesus worked so hard to recruit him into the ‘witch cult’ in the first place. And after taking the trip to Mexico for this express purpose why are they ignoring the coven right when the SHIAT they prepared for is HITTING THE FAN? Jesus and especially Lafayette have been completely left out of the witch action and nobody, specifically TARA, EVER comments on his absence. I believe, as Frenchy pointed out, that Bitler knows Lala could very well foil the entity posing as ‘Antonia’ {Maryann}and  skinwalking as Marnie. Not only that, just having Lala around M/A could be dangerous in that he would recognize MA and begin putting two and two together. Which would not be good for Bitler’s rise to higher power.

Lala is the key to the imminent phase of deeper revelations. Mavis may have been an imposter but she was still a spirit whom Lala could see, hear, and act as a medium. [Mavis did her job well and perhaps the remains of her child was her reward] And even though Lala was too late to foil the false flag assassination attempt via Manchurian Candidate which can only benefit Bitler ala the Reichstag Fire, and too late to stop Sookie from being used as target practice, it’s not too late for him to dig a little deeper and stop Bitler’s corrupt march to total power.

We should all be so empowered.
